After the installation, an automatic update on regular basis task is scheduled automatically. This works fine if you are connected to the Internet permanently, or if you update NOD32 from a local mirror over LAN. If you connect via dial-up, the task "Automatic update upon dial-up connection" must be enabled for NOD32 to check for newer updates upon an Internet connection.

Yesterday, my free anti-virus caught a trojan virus.

To ensure that the virus caught is not a false positive, I upload it to virus total web site to check.

To my surprise, all the big names in Anti-virus industry cannot detect the trojan. The one that detect the trojan are mainly the free version.

I would suggest that you uninstall Norton and get Avast. It is free for personal use.
