The AS Roma manager has rebuked any suggestions of there being a change in his tactics over the years, and reiterated that he wants his team to play good football.
The former Parma manager was recently appointed as the manager of the capital outfit after Luis Enrique was axed, following an indifferent campaign to the season. Zeman comes into AS Roma following his great campaign with the former
Serie B side, Pescara, who got promoted to the Serie A outfit under his management.
When quizzed over the possibility of changing his football philosophy, the experienced tactician was quick to dismiss any such notion and stated:
“People say I have changed tactically, but I don’t really agree. I want my team to entertain the fans and bring them closer to the team, giving them strong emotional responses. I hope to convince the sceptics that we can work well.”
The Prague born master tactician conceded that playing with an attacking mentality did risk defence to be caught in the wrong position at times, and stated:
“It’s normal that you risk something in defence, but if you score 90 goals then it shouldn’t really worry you how many are conceded. Football is made up of attacking and defending, but I think for players too it is better to create
than to destroy.”

The tactician was later quizzed on his opinion about the recent controversies in football, as he has previously been extremely against the presence of any negativity involved in the game of football.
The former Lecce head coach was of the opinion that such occurrences need to be stamped out of the beautiful game, as they hamper its credibility. He was also of the opinion that elements of fair play need to be prevalent and
the use of any power to influence matches should be eradicated.
