  1. no ones to late to play so your biggest fannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn love kookster

  2. Yes it is too late and I don't recommend trying.  Play chess competitively for fun.

I started playing tournament chess when I was about 23.  I'm expert strength now and I'm 29.  Do not take this game too seriously as it can eat up a lot of time in your life.  The IMs and GMs have played chess all their life and have worked incredibly hard.  Many many many hours of study.  It is not an easy game to get good at.

Have fun with the game.  Join a local club and play competitively but never take it too seriously.  It is the sort of game I have seen destroy peoples lives.

Also, there is no money in chess.  The only people who earn good money are like top 20 in the world.  Everyone else is poor.  It is not something you want to do for a living.

Just so you know how hard it is.  I know one guy who has been playing most of his life.  He has been playing hardcore since highshool and claims to devote atleast 5 hours a day to it.  He is only rated about 2400 and is like 23 now.  To reach grandmaster from that level is still an incredible leap that likely will never happen.

  3. no its never too late

    just start learning again

and before you know it you will have plenty of skills

it might take a little while

    but you will be awsome

    good luckk (:

  4. The odds of you becoming a grandmaster are slim.

Even if you HADN'T quit playing, and even if you started playing when you were SIX, the odds are slim.

So yes, I say you can't do it.

Now go out and prove me wrong.

  5. I hope not!

I quit playing chess a few years ago to focus on school. I have plans to get back into it later in life so I'm with you - I hope it's never too late.

  6. No, but I would not suggest trying.

You'll spend 16 hours  a day on making about $1000.

Unless you are independently wealthy or know someone who will financially support you, why bother.
