I have obtained Schengan visa ( multiple entries) issued by italian consul. can i enter germany directly?

due to change in my itinerary i need to travel to germany first and then to italy.

  1. Don't you know the member country of Schengan. Except Swiss you can go to any Europe country with this visa. Germany is also the schengan country. Simply speaking those who are using Euro as their country currency are all in schengen list. But you can not enter into Switzerland.


  2. Well, you have to enter the country fist at the embassy that it was issued at.  So you will have to enter Italy 1st, then after that you can enter any other schengen country.

    The rules might be different, it depends what nationality you are.  Rather contact the German embassy and make sure, otherwise you will be refused entry and be sent back to where you came from.

  3. Yes..Germany is a member of the Schengen-countries. However, what exactly do you mean by "directly"? Germany has no border with Italy so you will have to travel through Austria or France (both Schengen) or Switzerland (not Schengen)...or fly. The Netherlands is also a Schengen-country.
