  1. Seek professional help. You won't find it here.

  2. Its hard to get rid of it completely but you can learn to control it and lead a more normal life.  Get some professional help.  There's no stigma in that.  A good friend of mine was having a lot of trouble with that but he's much better now.

  3. There is some very good info here:

I would recommend Inositol in combination with Choline, also add 5-HTP if you have mood swings or depression.

All of these are dietary supplements that can be purchased at health food stores.

Very important: if you are a coffee drinker, you have to quit! Caffeine makes OCD worse.

    Best of luck!

PS: OCD is a condition caused by chemical imbalance in the brain. You cannot resolve a chemical imbalance with counselling and with "trying not to do certain things". You need to eliminate the cause and that means you have to balance your neurotransmitters. The supplements mentioned on the link and the ones I recommended will do just that. You don't have to live with OCD, you don't have to mask the symptoms. Eliminate the cause and you will be just fine!

  4. My big sister has it. She goes to a professional and its helped a lot! There is help! You just have to find it!

    Good Luck!

  5. I don't know how severe your case is but I have to constantly remind myself not to do certain things and that everything will be OK if I don't do them. I'm a cleaner, so its hard for me to do 'light' cleaning but I set a timer and when it goes off I don't allow myself to clean anymore. Keeping yourself distracted helps too so I try to write in my journal and think of things that make me feel calm instead of worrying that my bathroom isn't clean enough. And if it keeps really bad, I recommend finding a good therapist who can work with you. I had to be on meds at one point to keep me focused and calm but you might just need some good aversion therapy. Good luck!

  6. just remember that even if you think everything has to be in its place, its fine if its not, let it go and live life to the fullest!

    God Bless

    Good Luck!!

  7. everybody has it in there own ways... i used to have to do everything in 3s if i swallowed if i touched something if i took a step and that was when i was little it was one of the hardest thing to stop doing but i got into a less annoying habbit of never crossing my path (spinning instead of turning) and it took my mind off of the other thing ... its at least better right? so just try to ignore it by doing something else
