The price is quoted in $US / troy ounce.  There are 31.1 grams in a troy ounce.    Most people will offer somewhat less than spot price, they wish to make a profit.

You gold may not be all gold.  12K gold for instance, is only half gold, and half something else.  24K gold is pure gold.

I know a great place to sell your gold.
