    Infact what value does a ration card have right now? You sure must be having Voter ID card, Driving Licence, Passport.

    In any case, ensure that your ration is renewed (that is, your records are not deleted) as according to your city's municipal authorities. There is no need to get a computerised ration card at all now, in my view. If you have any of these three documents, which are made after verification of ration card, then there is no need for a ration card.

    Actually one nationalised refused to accept ration card as a proof of identity to a poor man. The bank wanted poor man to bring his voter ID card. Infact when I enquired they showed such orders from their head office in Manipal, Karnataka!

    Its same as 10, 25, 50 paise coins. They are officially in circulation, but no one accepts them!
