I have one and a half year old dwarf hamster. Hes going bald all over his underside. Whats wrong with him?

  1. Your hamster is very old in hamster age chart. Old hamsters start losing fur (especially on the underside) as they age, they also eat less, sleep more and become less active than before.

    Also check him out for mange or mites to rule out their presence for the loss of fur. As long as the loss of fur is not combined with any other noticeable signs of sickness, there is nothing to do about it.

    The best thing to do is to give him lots of food and water and keep him very happy for the rest of his hamster life. Good Luck!


  2. normally for hamsters that's never good...You should probably either first check online for stuff go to http://www.hamsterific.com/ and try finding it and if u find anything and it is a disease then immediatly take him to a Vet!! My hamster had small spots but they grew back but this sounds more severe!!
