  1. That Theraband is about to become your best friend ever.

Hook it around the ends of your toes and grasp one end in each hand. Stretch your leg out straight in front of you and slowly point and flex your foot at least twenty times. Repeat with the other leg. Also, if you have pointe shoes, go wandering aimlessly around your house with them. Do a lot of releves and try doing this:

Plie, roll over your arches to a releve with legs still bent, straighten your legs, go back to the plie/releve position, go back to plie. Repeat several times.

Also try putting a textbook on the ground. Put your toes on the edge of the textbook and start doing releves (your heels should be starting on the ground). Then do this on one leg with the other foot in coupe. Then do it to the other side.

    Hope this helps :)

  2. i might buy some good inserts for your sneakers and wear those as often as you can. technically, how flat or arched your foot is is something that is genetic. but if you're still young enough, using arch support in your sneakers will help to mold your foot.

definitely stretch your feet the way other people have suggested.

  3. Oh I've had this problem before!

What I did was to walk around in my pointe shoes all the time (dancing, walking, going to the kitchen, etc).  A good stretch I used was placing my right foot in cuppe' but let my toes hit the floor.  Left leg stands straight.  Then plie' w/ my toes on the ground and my left shin pushing down on my right leg cuppe to increase the stretch.  Love that one!!

But do remember....It can be dangerous to try and push your foot that much in one month.  Healthy stretches and the Theraband will definitely help - but don't push too hard.  You can end up hurting your feet by making your bones too weak & thin.  Just be careful!

  4. do your thera band every night! and flex and pointe a billion times!
