I have opened up a group page and there are concerns of other members having their address shown to the group?

The subject was brought up that there was concern about email addys for members show up and don't want to be spammed. Is there a way to show person but not addy

  1. make sure your archives are closed and only members can post. there is the option of the setting to allow members to hide e-mails, it is not reversible and you loose the Polls feature. so if you loose the Polls at all, don't consider this option.

    anytime you e-mail anyone, you open yourself to spam- it's every where not just Y groups

    Find the category: Members

    Select: Moderators only (moderators can view profiles/change settings)

    Note that the member will continue to see his own adddress but not the other members' addresses, the exception being: recipients of the Digest or Individual Messages _will_ be able to see the addresses of the members who wrote the messages.

    Do not select:  Allow members to hide their email address from the group. Once you have selected this option, you may not change it later!!

    Save the change.
