  1. You do not need commercial car insurance - but you do need business use...

Getting business use like this on your insurance will cost between £0 - £6 - yes that is all!

Better to be safe than sorry.

To those that say they have not had any insurance issues - all you need is an accident and the photos of the accident include the signage and you will not get a penny!!!

Now comes on to the marketing and brand image - nail extensions are about feeling good about yourself and pampering yourself - am I right? if so the car the advert is on is also a statement - if the car is a nice car then it carries the message - if it is a tatty car what does it tell your customers? - that you are not doing well? that having good nails does not make you successful - think about the hidden messages too!

  2. With my agency we make our personal customers sign papers saying they will not use their vehicle for commercial use or advertise on their vehicle.  You might need to see if your company is the same.  Your b/f is right this time, sorry!

  3. No, because you are not going to wrap the entire car in vinyl and turn it into a full fledged commercial vehicle (think Merry Maids service car). If you are going to cover the car and really turn it into a service vehicle, then that sure has commercial insurance implications.

You are just putting a magnet that you can remove anytime, and even opt not to put the magnet ad.  You don't have to declare it as a commercial vehicle and pay additional insurance

  4. Just remember that any time that you put the magnet on your car - you become a TARGET.  And in this litigious society we live in, folks are always looking for "deep pockets" to sue. So, if you have YOUR company name on the side of your car, you obviously have more money than someone that DOESN'T have a company name on the side........so, you might think about carrying higher limits of liability than the normal person.

And if you came to MY agency with the signs on your car - we'd charge you for commercial use.

Good luck and I hope this helps!
