The wi fi card is a Dell Wireless 1397 Mini Card (802.11b/g) and i am not sure which is the best for the money (the cheaper the better but still good).

Thanks

  1. The cheapest is Netgear I think, I've got it and I've had no problems

  2. Netgear Wireless G is very good for the $$$

    Linksys is good too.

  3. You can get a cheap router for about $39 (US) but you can buy the D-Link dir-615 wireless N for $49 (US) and have a very good long range wireless router that can handle b/g and the new wireless n standards (so your ready for the future). So I would spend the extra $10 and get a good router at a low price. I replaced my Linksys wrt54g with the D-Link and love it. I also tried the Netgear but did not get very good range from it, so I returned it and bought the D-Link, and have a lot more range than the Netgear or my old Linksys.

I got mine at Office Depot but I've seen it at Best Buy for the same $49.

  4. Makes me wonder why you never bought the router at the same time, but really you should be able to get 1 for under £40, if u are buying outside try maplins, or pc world , i'd recommend netgear, thomson [ my one] and Belkin are very good, try www.shoplaptop.co.uk, microwarehouse, whatlaptop, mmm www.ciao.co.uk are good and  www.trustedreviews.co.uk, the netgear i mentioned above is DG834GT,and is a very good 1, nowadays nearly all routers are wi-fi/Ethernet some are even ADSL2+..

I have a Thomson supplied by o2, but its not connected to wi-fi, because you need to buy a wireless usb that goes into the back of the Tower, anyways i hope you know once you have all this you have to install it and then set up security  which is much tougher than windows xp professional/vista Business, anyway once its set up and the password is strong, you're ready to surf and work ,Oh also Linsky's are very good too Good Luck .

Footnote Zara, what kinda site is that, its just a series of links

and gives no help whatsoever, and Jermaine O, DO NOT USE THIS SITE, 1 NOT SAFE, 2, HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WI-FI ROUTERS,its a competition website, stay away!
