  1. I'm assuming you are meaning a flat-bar bike.

The easiest way is to put on some bar-ends, providing an extra hand position(s) & making it easier to ride more areodynamically.

Trekking bars would be even better, but you will have to remove & reposition the brake/gear levers when putting them on your bike.

  2. Depends on what you mean by ordinary.  If you mean a straight or flat-bar like you find on a mountain or hybrid, it could be changed, but it would mean having to make sure your new shifters and break controls are compatible with the existing parts on your bike.  For example, if you have a 7 speed cassette, you'd have to find drop style shifters that only have 7 "speeds" too, which I don't think exists actually, but you get my point.

  3. yea, no problem. Most yokes on front bike forks will support any type of handlebar.

  4. if you change a flat bar for drops, you'll need to change your brake and shifter levers. if the new shift levers aren't compatible with your derailleur, you'll need a new derailleur. is the new derailleur compatible with your cassette? you can do it, but at what cost? I'd suggest getting bar ends. or if you really want drops, look into getting a new bike. you'll end up paying close to that anyway..

  5. yes     haha points for me
