Question:

I have orphaned moles (I think) their eyes are not open yet. How can you tell if they are moles or weasels?

I contacted the wild life and game department here and they refered me to the animal rescue center. When I talked with them I had assumed they were moles and they told me to feed them milk replacement. This is working so far. But, weasels are fed the same way at this stage of life. So I was trying to figure out how to tell the difference between the pups.

Moles are much chunkier, and weasles are thin and long.

  2. Moles and weasels look totally different to each other.  Weasels are long and thin.  Moles are shorter and chunkier, and they have pointier noses:)

  3. when one bites you, and wont let go, or runs up your boyfriends trouser leg

    Thats a weasel

if it digs up your plant pots

    its a mole

  4. Moles are compact little critters with abnormally powerful upper arm muscles.  Weasels are much more elongated or, should you prefer, more thinly built.  If you can discretely take a photo, perhaps the animal rescue centre could help out.
