I booked a hotel through an internet holiday company paid the deposit and they emailed an invoicve for this but when I paid the balance they have not sent an invoice for this and they say they dont have to. They say my booking shows the balance is nil but I have nothing saying I have paid the balance and what amount I paid.....is this against the law or not?????

  1. Depends on what country you're in.  A few steps:

If you know the hotel you're staying at, call the hotel directly to confirm your booking.

If you paid by credit card (hopefully), contact your credit card company and see what they show.  The other reason to pay by credit card is that if this holiday company does not provide you with the goods/services you paid for, the credit card company can refund you your money and go after the operator.

Apologies, but this seems a bit odd.

  2. it is not the law but all decent companys will upon request

  3. I don't know if it's against the law but any decent company would send you something to say you've paid....and especially so if you asked!!
