I have pain that shoots up in my left side towards my neck while im sleeping on that side. Is that bad?

Of course pain means something is wrong, silly!  The question is: is it bad enough to have to worry about it or not?  You should ask your doctor.  They can run tests to figure out exactly what's causing it and decide whether or not you need to worry too much about it.
