I have pet stain on my hardwood?

Before i moved into my house, the previous owner had dogs. I didn't know that.....

Apparently, she had let the dogs use the bathroom on the carpet in my living room, which has hardwood underneath. Now, i am pulling up the carpet in this room, and have found many many dark stains all around the floor.....

What can I do?

The stains -may- come out with sanding and refinishing. You might have to replace some of the boards, in addition to the sanding. Your best bet is to call a professional hardwood floor refinishing company in your area to look at your floors and give you an estimate ( it is almost always free). They can be found in your local Yellow Pages.^

Buy another carpet. Hardwood will probably need to be refinished. I'm not even sure it will come up.

The floor could have been made of another type board. At least you can re-carpet.
