  2. Main health problems in Australia are diabetes, heart disease, obesity. Some people have seasonal allergies to various plants, but not any more than anywhere else.  Melbourne is a great city, very easy to live there, good transport, great food markets, wonderful array of fresh food. There are lots of educational institutions to choose from, depends what you want to study. There are 4 major universities in Melbourne - University of Melbourne, Monash, La Trobe and VUT. There is also RMIT and a couple of other places.  Melbourne is a more reasonable place to live in terms of cost of living or getting to and from work. It is more like a European city really. Australia has a lot of animals and insects that can bite you, you need to be aware of them in all parts of Australia. That includes things like Box Jelly Fish, Irukandji jellyfish (very deadly) these are mainly in North QLD; various types of snakes (taipan is worse, brown snake also pretty bad), a few nasty spiders (redbacks, funnelwebs, whitetail), and depending on where you live, mosquitoes can be a problem. Do your research on these things. Good luck!.

  3. Australia is pretty much becoming just as screwed up as the rest of the world - too many people coming into the country and changing the whole atmosphere of the place.  Bringing all their new rules, religions and repressions with them. Aussies are becoming scared to be themselves anymore - aussies are quite unique people and fun but they are changing for fear of not conforming to the newcomers.  (I was not born in Australia, so don't think I am being a racist here).  Australia used to be a free and easy country with such a great spirit but it is slowly being crushed out of them.  They flung the doors open wide with open arms and plenty of room in their open hearted kindness - now they are being crushed and told what they can and can't do by other cultures.  AND forget about staying in Melbourne it bloody rains all the time there.
