the play is dracula, so i probably should stick to drama, so no comedy skits. + I'm going to do this by myself so no abbot and costello or anything else with two parts....:D thanks!

  1. Do something with a kind of fear or fright emotion, as it will work well for dracula, also, over do it with the emotion, that will show off all your talent, they can worry about toning it down once your in, auditions are about showing your maximum talent

  2. On a personal preference for The Phantom of the Opera, you should do this one: http://www.monologuearchive.com/l/leroux...  because it's so beautiful. It's long though, but you don't have to do all of it.

If you're feeling ambitious, though, I'd go for some Shakespeare.

  3. I know it sounds weird and time consuming...but...When I needed to memorize lines for a song I'd be performing, I would rewrite the words. Literally, write them out with a pen and paper. That's just me though. *smiles*

  4. how about "annbelle lee" by poe. it's relatively easy to memorize and it's still dramatic.

  5. What about an Edgar Allan Poe poem? That would be dark enough for Dracula. I had to memorize lists of his poems my freshman year because my character was nuts and thought he was Poe. They were in the script, but my director had me improv and I had to know them in their entireties.
