All I could do is make some creatures & save them.

Is there anything else I could do if I buy the complete game?

I am interested in Earth/planets, I like the creatures but is there anything else?

Anyways, have you played SPORE the complete version?

Was it fun & kept you entertained?

  1. That was just a demo of the creature creator - not in anyway representative of the gameplay of the actual game.

  2. Just to clear things up, spore is already out in Australia (it came out on the 02/09/2008) and will be out by the 7th for most other countries!

What you have is the trial of the creature creator that is only a very small part of the game. The full version of the creature creator can be bought for around $10.

Spore is a much larger and more addictive game that has 5 different stages, each built on a different idea making it hard to place in a single genre.

The first stage is the cell stage. You start off as a single cell trying to avoid being eaten in your 2d "puddle" while eating other smaller creatures. By gaining DNA points, a player can then buy different ways of increasing the ability of their cell.

The second stage is the creature stage. You have evolved enough to go on land and the area has now changed to a 3D environment. The idea is a lot the same as the cell stage but there are a few differences.

If the player has a connection to the Internet, the game will download other players creatures as predators or prey. Depending on the level of strength your creature is, different levels of predators and prey will be downloaded accordingly. Another new part to the game is the social aspect that can also gain you DNA points.

The next stage is the tribal stage. The creatures physical development finishes and so does the players control over just one creature. The player now focuses on building up a tribe. Food now replaces DNA points and a map that shows the whole planet can be seen. The game has changed into more of a real time strategy game. The player can now buy things such a campfires and tools. Tribe members are given different roles such as fishing, gathering or hunting. Creatures learn to speak and try to either befriend or destroy other tribes. For every tribe that is either destroyed or befriended, a 1/5 of a "totem pole" is built. When the whole pole is built, the player advances to the civilization stage.

In the civilization stage, the aim is to unite or conquer the entire planet. Your tribe is now a city. Like most real time strategy games, there is a population and building limit which can be increased by building factories. Super weapons become available and do devastating damaged to rivaling cities. The main unit of currency changes to "spice".

Space is the last stage in the game. The player has a UFO that they can use to do travel to different planets building up life (or destroying it). The UFO has special tools such as terraform tools, abduction tools and interstellar tools (that let you travel to over 500,000 different planets). The game finds different civilizations that are made by other players and then allows the player to interact with them. (This does not interfere with other players experience). The space stage is often referred to as the sandbox because the player has gained so much control over the whole universe.

Spore contains 18 different types of editors showing how customizable the game is. The creature creator demo is only part of one of these.

The actual spore game is very fun and well worth buying.

  3. what you got was the spore creature creature the very first part of your game when/if you get thr fulll version you start off as a cell then become a creature and slowley build your town into a civilization then end up expanding into the rest of space the full version of spore hasent come out yet and wont be out unitl mid spetember i think

  4. you can only make creatures with the creature creator. the full version of spore comes out on sept 7th in north america and you can start off as a cell, then go through the stages of civilization and beyond. and by beyond, you become a space faring race and you can conquer planets.
