I have potential, but dont believe it?

Everyone tells me I have alot of potential to make something of myself. I know I do too, but I don't believe it. I guess its because I didn't do anything to earn it, just my attitude kinda gives it off. I hope this makes sense. The problem is, even though I know I have potential I don't believe I do.

I know this sounds stupid, and I agree it does, but I hope somebody understands what I'm saying...

  1. I also have potential but I am sick person. that makes me loser.

  2. You most likely have a great  personality. But have demos in your past or even present that hamper your self worth. Ive worked with many people  with great  personalities, talked, smiled worked super good. But self imploded, for no outward  reason.  I am also one of thoughts people and yes I have self worth issues stemming from childhood.

  3. I understand.

For example, going to get my references for my graduation application I was worried it'd be a problem because I feel I'm a mediocre student.

I have all A's but that's what I should have.

Then I ask my professor for the reference and he gushes about me.

Apparently I have talent and dedication.

I thought I was slacking off.

The best thing I do for it is trying to remember how others feel when I'm working on something or going for a particular goal.

    Best of luck!

  4. Pepole can tell you all day long about the potential they see in you but in order for you to excel and succeed great things you have to believe you have the confidence and power to acheieve anything in life that you want.  I know that you have potential too, everyone does.  The fun thing about it we all have potential to fulfill what makes us who we are. Now I know I will never be a CEO of a company but I know that I have great potential to be a writer.  I enjoy writing short stories, poems, and novels.

Ask yourself, what is it I like to do? What makes me happy.  Follow that feeling and do not suppress it.

  5. I don't think that it sounds stupid, and I can totally relate with you. My parents still think that I can do ABSOLUTELY anything. Like I'm the super-son or something. I know that if I took the time to learn the things that they think I should do, that chances are I'd probably be successful at it. They can see me succeeding at everything, but personally, I get cold feet before I start anything really big. It's like, "you ought to think about getting into newspaper editing." I know that I'd be good at it, but I'm not interested in that. I think you are like me and second guess your abilities and creativity, you stay quiet and you have a fear of failure. It comes with the expectations that everyone has for you. All will be fine, just do what you're interested in and you'll be able to give your children and grandchildren good advice.

  6. just go for it

  7. I agree this year in school i made d's even though i could make strait A's. What u gotta do is jst believe in yourself telll youself u can do it .  just try ok.
