I let the boat sit for a month in a slip, it rained alot. Next time I drove it, I took off no problems, when I got to 40mph it couldnt go any faster, rpms were at 4500. The boat did not over heat and oil pressure was good. Engine did not seem to be missing, sounded good, just couldnt go any faster, usually I can go 62-67mph @ 5000rpms. Another problems is and I dont know if this is related but when I try and start it, it doesnt always start, like a loose conection, all I hear is the fuel injection and then turn the key and nothing, It is in neutral, and eventually after 2,3,4,5, or more times it will eventually just start. This has been doing this for years so Im use to that but it seems its getting worse or taking more times to get it to connect.

  1. pull the boat out of the water and drain and inspect the hull and the propeller bearings and general area of the transom ... now while you gots the boat out of the water take it to a certified mechanic and  get the tune-up that the boat has long deserved ------  you and the boat will be much happier and you will be able to ''run right'' --- getting your boat checked out now and in the end of the season will be better than waiting for the back-log of spring boaters long lines .......... please remember that a boat is only as good as the care that you give it and also that good running boat adds to your safety on the water  ...........

  2. i know this might sound crazy, but since you said it rained so much.....there could be a large amount of water sitting in your hull that you do not have access to unless you do certain construction to the boat....having water in your hull will slow a boat down much more than you would think!....contact baja.....good luck

  3. the speed issue is probably water in the hull.  the starting issue sounds like the starter, but you might get lucky and find a bad slave solenoid.
