  1. Well, you might not GET the full amount, but you tell the insurance company, you want to do the ork yourself.  They should pay you part of it, for materials, up front.  Then you do the work, and they may or may not come out and inspect it for adequacy.  Then since you're going to track your labor hours, they pay you for your labor when the work is completed to their satisfaction.

But if you mess up, they do NOT pay any more.  They don't guarantee or warranty YOUR work on your own house, AT ALL.

You SHOULD be discussing this with YOUR AGENT, who can actually do the taking to your adjuster for you, and give you the details on this process with your company.  It's common, happens all the time.

  2. Want some Paypal cash?

You just need to be 13 years old, you answer surveys, but it actually works. I have 18 dollars at the moment, and still gaining money. If you don't believe me, they have proof on their forums or people being paid!http://www.treasuretrooper.com/433117

  3. Your need to make an insurance claim first.  The insurance company can either send the check directly to the contractor doing the work, or they can send it to you.  Have them send you the check, so you can decide what contractor to use (yourself).

  4. Talk to the adjuster that is handling the claim.  Provide them with an estimate, or a few estimates.  They may be able to provide you with a check directly.  Just be sure the work you do yourself does not cancel any insurance you may be paying to carry.  I'm not sure if you are referring to property damage on an auto policy or a homeowners policy.  (I worked in the insurance field for 10+ years.)

  5. You call your agent to file a claim.  They send an adjuster to assess the damage and determine how much money it will cost to repair it.  They also figure in some depreciation and other nonsense then they deduct the amount of your deductible and send you a check.

This is how it worked when my friend had a lot of water damage at his house.  Oh yes, they withheld almost $2,000 for some reason - can't recall what it was but to get it, he would have had to produce receipts showing the cost of the repairs exceeded the adjuster's estimate.

It's doable but be sure the claim is large enough to warrant making a claim.  Your insurance rates will increase by making the claim.

    Good luck to you.

  6. first you need to make the claim--they'll get you the cah after they access the damage and thn you can do the work BUT before you make the drastic changes on your house you might wanna make sure tht you dont need to pull a permit to build :)
