I have purchased six different set top boxes from £25-£99 and all suffered the same problem Picture Freeze and Loss of Sound.I have had erected a high gain arial by a recognised rigger.The picture when working properly is fantastic.What worrys me is that we change over on 2009/10 is this problem going to continue and is this a Digital problem. Can all six boxes be faulty and those of my neighbours. Many thanks..

I would not be surprised if all these boxes use the same chips inside! There are not that many IC manufacturers that create ICs for DVB  set-top boxes.

However, picture freeze is usually a symptom of bad reception.  If your set-top box provides a signal-strength meter, do use it to fine-tune the orientation of your antenna for best reception.
