I have questions to the ladies who had a c-section during pregnancy?

My girlfriend just had a baby girl and well she had to have a c- section. After the surgery she noticed that she has a lump near where they stitched her up. I was thinking this was scar tissue developing. Does anyone know if this is normal? We did tell the doctor about it but she did not say anything about it. Should we see another doctor for their opinion? Thanks.

  1. When I had my c-section I did have a bit of scar tissue during the healing process.  Of course I had staples not stitches so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Depending on the size of  the lump I really would not be to concerned about it.  Rememeber the doctors had to cut through all the muscle and what not so I am pretty sure it is just scar tissue. A second opinion would not hurt if you are not satisfied with your doctor.

  2. I've had one C section and there's lumpy scar tissue underneath where the incision was, I'm not sure if it's normal to have a lump near the incision though.  I'd definately ask someone else.

  3. I have the same thing.  Towards the middle of the incision and just barely above it.  I don't know what it is, but I have it.  It's starting to go away now though, barely noticeable anymore.  Congrats on your new addition!

  4. You are probably right on the scar tissue.  Mine still hurts from time to time and I had a c-section 5yrs old.  Just keep the area VERY clean while it's healing to prevent infection!!

  5. I had several lumps around the incision site, they are gone now. I think it is all just a part of the healing process. The body is in shock from everything from the pregnancy to the surgery, to the drugs, to the post partem hormonal adjustments.

  6. i had the same but it also could be an ingroen hair i know silly huh but thats what my doc said it kinda looked like a pimple sorta idk but it also hurt

  7. not normal. she should go back to her doctor and have everything checked out.
