Question:

I have quite a few blister-like sores on my body. Could it be from using too much detergent?

About a week and a half ago I got a blister on my stomach where the button rubs. At first I thought it was no big deal because it was probably just due to friction. However, I now have about ten blisters on my body. I have one on my thigh, one on the back of my knee, quite a few smaller ones on my lower abdomen, and two on my underarm. My step-mom is a nurse practitioner and said it doesn't look like ringworm. I went to the doctor and he had nothing to say.

Anyone have any suggestions or similar past experiences?

  1. I don't know what you may/may not have. I suggest you see a dermatologist. Most doctors aren't specialists and have to know a little bit of everything. The doctor you went to, should have referred to a specialist.

  2. could be the metal in your clothes my daughter breaks out from it but not blisters so far. but I doubt its anything serious like herpeas all tho While herpes outbreaks commonly occur on the mouth or genitals from infection with the herpes simplex virus, it is possible for the virus to be transmitted to and appear on other parts of the body. Infection on non-mucosal skin, such as the lower legs or shoulders, is rare but possible, especially if the skin was broken and came into contact with the virus. Two additional types of herpes, herpes gladiatorum and herpes zoster, more commonly result in outbreaks on parts of the body other than the mouth and genitals.

    Could be shingles!

    Hope I helped some!

    Good Luck

  3. Go see a specialist immediately.  I have seen something like that and it was herpes.  Some people react differently to herpes.  Please see a specialist.

  4. What do the blisters look like? I had something like that on my stomach but it looked like I was getting psoriasis and not blisters. I started using Aveeno body wash the exfoliating no fragrance and the I got a subscription to the local tanning salon for a month. As I was tanning whatever I had started to clear up and leave white spots but after I finished my month and the tan faded you couldn't see it anymore and every time since then I haven't had any white spots when I tan naturally.

If they are blisters and have that raised look (almost like water blisters) then try pouring Hydrogen Peroxide on them and see if it dries them out and helps them heal.

If that doesn't help make a Dermatologist appt.

    Goodluck!

  5. Could be an allergic reaction, MRSA, my neighbor had MRSA and it started out like a spider bite and progressed to an open wound and Dr. tested and said it was MRSA. Have the Dr. swab it and see what it is. Till then keep then clean, dry and covered if they bleed or ooze.
