Between the outside wall and fireplace of my house there seems to be a bees nest. Its hard to see exactly because there is a ivy vine in the way... I think they may be killing it some how because ever since i started seeing them its been dying more and more (i don't mind, i HATE the thing). We are constantly on the deck and the bees nest is withing FEET of us but they do NOT even care. They don't even stop to check us out. They just go in and out in and out. They fly past us, between us, under us, and through our legs with not even a pause. How normal is this. When i remember getting that close to a bee hive before i remember getting CHASED!!!

  1. Bee's are never looking for trouble.  If they aren't bothered they won't bother you.  some hornets can be pretty docile, but not as much as most bees. even though a hornet can sting multiple times it still uses up a lot of energy to build up their venom supply, so they are pretty conservative.  Usually hornets and bee's will bump into people without stinging at first, as a warning, when they feel a little too threatened.

Yes it is normal for bees to behave this way, not so much with hornets or killer bees.

  2. If they are bees, it's normal. If they are wasps, hornets, yellow-jackets, etc, then no. Bees actually die after they sting because the stinger they leave behind rips open their abdomen. They only sting if they absolutely need to as a result. Other stingy flying insects can sting repeatedly, so they are more aggressive.

  3. a simple... no.

  4. I think these are probably honeybees.  I've known people who had huge nests in the walls of their houses.  I wouldn't call it normal--I wouldn't want bees in my house.  They probably won't bother you because they're busy making honey, but I think you probably have a very messy beehive with honey in it in your walls.

  5. perhaps they're high.

  6. just like the be movie hahahaha

  7. Some bees aren't as hostile as others.  Hornets and yellow jackets tend to attack, but honeybees tend to mind their own business, unless you upset them, of course.
