I have read that silverware can be harmful...?

due to the antibacterial properties in silverware, they can be harmful to friendly intestinal flora. Also small amounts of metal (especially when heated) can still get into our system. Supposedly because silverware has antibacterial properties, it is one of the reasons it is used for food purposes. Anyone else have comment on this?

  1. People buy colloidal silver from health food stores and consume more of it than a person will get from silverware. It is the parts per million that matter, and silverware is not a threat issue.

What you need to be more concerned about is lead in lead crystal eating ware such as dishes, decanters, cups and glasses.

  2. Even though in some cases silver ware can be harmful, what isn't these days? EVERYTHING can be dangerous some how and you just have to know that if you lead a healthy life style and have routine check-ups with your doctor, your going to be fine. Also, people have been using silver ware for hundreds of years, and millions of people use silver ware every day, and there has yet to be a big silver ware epidemic.

  3. You can also get drunk on cantaloupe, if you wash it down with bourbon.  Must be some sort of chemical reaction between the two.
