  1. Contacts are a very good alternative to many eye glass wearers.  I wear thick lenses in my glasses as well because of a stigmatism.  My prescription strength is -9.00 in my left eye and -8.50 in my right.  I am able to wear hard, gas permeable or soft extended wear lenses.  Even as my eyes change I have asked if I can still get contacts in my prescription and my eye doctor always says yes.  As my prescription strengthens my contacts might not be the ones you could walk into Walmart and pay $13.00/box for, but I will still be able to get contacts with my eye doctor.

As my eyes change the contacts have not become noticeably thicker.  Your eyelids adjudge to the thickness of the contacts by growing calluse like tissue underneath.  You'd never know to look at them, it's just a process.

Don't deny yourself the possibility by listening to others who have no real idea.  Go to your eye doctor professional and ask.

    Good luck

  2. Your eye doctor will tell you if you can get contacts.  If they are OK for you, daily disposable lenses go right up to -12.50 at www.daysoftlenses.com.  They're just over $10 for a box of 32 lenses.  Other manufacturers like J&J, Ciba, Cooper and B&L do dailies too but they're more expensive and don't come in as many powers.

  3. yeah but theyd stick out and youd have a real hard time blinkin
