I have really weak wifi. PLEASE HELP!! i nee to increase the range

i have a dell laptop and my wifi is really really weak and i need to somehow increase it. is there a program i can download or set the settings to a level where it would incrase the range of the reception.

please help

No software will increase the speed, this is a broadcast issue, recommend a more powerful router, move the router to a more central location, or my favorite, a range expander or repeater.

There are lot of factors why your Wifi has a weak signal. First is the compatibility issue. If your router (sender) is a A/B/G version then your Wifi card (receiver) should be of the same type. A with not work on B and so B will not work on A type; G type can use both A and B. Second, is the location of the router from your unit and the obstructions in between. Wifi signal is only access until a particular radius so the farer it is then the less your network gets; the more obstructions the less network signal.

Had this same problem....my wireless kept dropping out on me....so i changed the wireless signal channel on the router from the default 11 to channel 2 and it work great haven't had it drop out once...try that and see if it works....if you don't know how to change the channel just get back to me and ill step you through it :)

You didn't say what router you are using but if it will allow you to fit an external antenna then that would help

No you can not ,

WiFi is Standard and can not be week the problem should be from your Broadcaster or the place you are in .

nothing is wrong with your laptop
