That's ridiculously high (nearly 6 bucks a min). Is there anything I can do? Should I call the phone company up? Btw, the bill is from a different service provider. I know I accepted the service and should pay but I didn't know that the rates would be sky rocket high. Any opinions?

  1. You could try appealing, but frankly, I don't think you stand a chance.  Collect calls are always expensive, and a foreign one worse.  You should have taken their number and rung back.

  2. you received an international collect call, how much did you think it was going to cost you?

$6 per minute does seem rather expensive, and this is being billed from a third party not your local or long distance providers, although it is probably due to your local phone provider, who is doing the billing for the collect call company.

first I would contact your local (or LD, whoever is billing for this call) carrier, and ask them for the information on this call. if you dispute the charges, let them know that you are going to pay your bill minus these charges, and contact the company responsible for the charges to come to a resolution.

  3. Nothing you can do. Collective calls are very expensive. And it was long distance
