I have received a NIP this morning for speeding have an irish licence and going home in 2 weeks ?

There is no fine amount on the letter or penalty points. Wont be at my address after 2 weeks what happens if i don't hear anything before then should I tell them Help kinda freaking out

  1. if you going home for good don't worry about it, how did they get your address? were you driving a hired car, if your address is an irish one they cannot enforce it.

I would advise you to contact the department that sent the NIP to you and advise them that you are moving shortly.  Not doing so could mean you are listed as wanted for the offence if you disappear and you don't want that because then it will be dealt with by the Courts at their discretion which may not be convenient for you.

    I have arrested people from their parents address for this sort of thing just before they had a family meal.  It sounds harsh but if you make yourself available to face the music then that's better than the Police turning up to get you at a minutes notice.

  4. I am assuming you received the ticket in the US. If so, go to the county courthouse in the area you received the ticket. Show it to the clerk and explainn the situation. You should be able to pay the fine right there.
