I have recently purchased a nitro rc car which has an 15cxp or .15 engine i was just wandering what this means

also i would want to know if it is a big block or small block engine and any links that may help me understant

p.s its a 1/10th scale car.

  1. this means it displaces 1/15th of a cubic inch there is no big or small block unless you are talking about completly different classes of engine say a 1.5 cid ,which is 10x the size and big enough to power a very large aircraft.all engines are built for the smallest,lightest weight


  2. .15 is 15/100 or 15 hundredths of a cubic inch not 1/15 of a cubic inch. It's way bigger than that. We used the same kind of engines to fly model airplanes when I was a kid. They ran on nitro methane like top fuel dragsters and funny cars do. I remember a small engine that was an .049. The displacement was 49 thousandths of a cu. in. I have no idea what cxp means.
