Yea i have red/orange hair, I want to die it black ( not because of payouts or anything, I just like it black. the red doesnt express me).

I have heard that I I die it black, and one day I stop, my hair wont be red anymore it will be like a 'smokers blonde'.

Is this true? Is it safe to dye my hair black, and know that if I oneday stop, my natural hair colour (being red) will still grow?

Thanks!

  1. Dont dye your hair black, you will ruin your hair. You wont ever get your red hair back and your hair will probably get messed up.

  2. You should go dark brown. Not black. If you dye it black now, it's gonna take about a year to get it back.

  3. Once you dye your hair any color you can't get it back to the original--you would have to wait for it to grow back out.

So, that's partially true.  I think what they meant by "smoker's blonde" is that the black dye would fade into a weird color.

So it's safe to dye it, you just have to wait for it to grow out for the original color to come back.  Or have the color stripped and find a close color to the original.  Hair always grows back.  :)

  4. im not sure it could happen but it may not go to a hair stylist who you trust ask them!
