Do not fix it your self as the warranty will be no good. Microsoft add a longer warranty to the Xbox

I've never heard of the towel trick. I've had four xbox360's in the last year. I've had warranties on all of them, and had to exchange them because of the red ring of death. The problem with exchanging it, is that you'll lose all your downloaded data. Good luck!!! <= you'll need it.

if you get the red ring of death you can call up microsoft and tell them. they'll send you a box you put your 360 in, then send it back to them, and they'll send you a new 360 in about a month. same thing happened to me.
