I have regained my rhythm, claims http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wahab-Riaz-c95839 – Cricket News Update
Wahab Riaz, the left-arm fast bowler from Pakistan, is happy with his performance in the inaugural season of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 Premier League (SLPL) and vows to make his way back in the national team by doing well in the upcoming domestic
season in the country.
The 27-year-old cricketer made his Test debut during the controversial tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 win the Test.
The left-armer remained an integral part of the national team for many months before the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 last year. There were some question marks over his role in the spot-fixing saga; however, Wahab has been cleared by the International
Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625).
The cricketer from Lahore last played for the country during the Asia Cup 2012, held in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, but miserably failed to make an impression, conceding 50 runs in his four overs without getting any wicket.
While talking to Pakpassion, the speedster claimed that he has regained his form during the SLPL, where he represented Ruhuna Royals. Wahab believes that his confidence is back and now he is geared up to come back to the
national side.
"I’ve felt in good shape throughout the Sri Lankan Premier League and my rhythm has been good. I feel that quick bowling is about having a good rhythm and about being confident," he said. "I feel that my rhythm and confidence is back
and I’m hopeful that I can make a comeback to the Pakistan team and prove my critics wrong."
The left-armer’s most memorable match remains the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 semi-final against India at Mohali, when the rookie picked up a five-wicket haul, unfortunately however, to end up on the losing side.
Wahab understands that he will have to perform well in the upcoming domestic cricket season in Pakistan if he wants to strengthen his case for national selection.
"However I have to wait for my chance, nobody has a right to play for Pakistan, you have to perform and you have to play well and be consistent," the fast bowler added.
