I dont want to look desperate, but at the same time I want to let them know I'm still looking for a better position.

  1. contact them about once a week. on a thursday afternoon or friday morning as this is when they are handing out jobs/interviews etc.

dont worry about looking pushy.. not pushy enough and they forget you. once a week is about right

    good luck

  2. I registered with a few agencies in the City as each time I enquired about a specific job I obviously had to register. They love having you on their books, but if  you don't call them constantly you will go to the bottom of the pile. I haven't heard from any for months! I am now with a local agency and doing some temp work.

  3. Straight away. Keep at them until they come up with something. They rarely make the first move, and I suspect that most of the jobs they offer in glowing terms are spoofs to have someone contact them, and then they can tick a little box.

Good luck, though, and hope you find what you want.

  4. Sometimes, I've registered with a recruitment agency and never heard from them about a single job, so call or e-mail them every couple of weeks but also, it's really worth signing up with 10 agencies rather than just one.

  5. I'd phone them once a week, it's enough to let them know you're still there without looking desperate.

Also, register with lots of recruitment firms - more chance you'll find something.

  6. Keep contacting them, at least 3 times a week.  And register with as many agencies as you can, and keep contacting all those agencies until they come up with something.  The more you pester them, the more likely they are to come up with something for you.

  7. drive them crazy.be agressive..........................or as they say.........highly motivated.............

  8. I would pester them constantly.  If you're not on their minds they won't bother looking for you.  Really.  E-mail them, phone them etc every day.  You might look desperate but at least they know you will turn up for interviews and doi your very best. Good luck.
