Question:

I have rencently become intrested in growing my own veggies?

But I have never planted anything in my life, exept a bean spout in kindergarden....Any gardening advice?

  1. Plan your vegetable garden for the sunniest location of your yard even when this is the front.There corn, pole beans, kale, lettuce,parsley and cabbages can be decorative when planted between flowers.

    Prepare the vegetable patch by double digging, adding manure and or compost. Do not use pesticides to really grow healthy veggies. The library has many books on organic gardening.

    And while you are at why not plant some fruit trees? They have beautiful blossoms followed by welcome fruit. Your garden will provide you with healthy produce and at the same time improve or keep you in good health.  


  2. Glad to hear it, and you will enjoy them as well. As my Grandfather used to say, who enjoyed his garden and grew everything.. you dig it over good, and put plenty of manure into it. These days of course you can get that type of thing at the Garden Centres. Good luck to you in your new venture.. and you will not be sorry. Wish I lived near, then I would buy some off you.Ask questions at any Garden Centre and they will help you.
