I have schlatter-osgood disease??

my knee hurts alot and ive had it for 2 years. should i get surgery?? i'm 13.

  1. only your doctor knows you well enough to say if you need it or don't


  2. surgery is rarely suggested for osgood-schlatter's.  typically the only thing that helps is resting the joint until you're done growing or the inflammation goes down.  ice as much as you can after activity.  don't push too hard through the pain, as you're only potentially doing more damage.  

    have you tried a patellar tendon strap?  the provide a little compression onto the patellar tendon area, which can take the load off of the irritated area.  might want to give that a try

    trust me, you don't want to mess with surgery!
