I have seen articles stating that nerve damage can be repaired with medication (but I wasn't interested then).

I have seen more than one article on rejuvenating nerves but it's been at least a year. Can you find out more information?

  1. I'm not an expert in this field, but here's a few abstracts from recent papers that may help you with your search.

    Hope this helps a little.

  2. try looking into "hydergine" "tianeptine" and "selegiline", also you might consider electrical stimulation, for a start search "electrosleep"

  3. Very careful control of Diabetes is the best way to manage the Neuropathy. STRICT control- getting the weight down, proper diet, exercise religously, the whole package. There is no real "cure" tho lots of things are being touted on the Internet. Lots of pseudo-science out there.

Cymbalta helps the pain of neuropathy.

The reason I am getting after you about tight control is that neuropathy is not the only complication of Diabetes- Kidney failure, blindness, early dementia, heart disease, stroke, etc. all are increased and the worse the control, the worse the problems.

The neuropathy seems to be related to how long you have had Diabetes, as well.

If you have not seen your Internist recently, discuss this issue with him. You can get a lot of information from valid sources like NIH, National Library of Medicine, Medline, etc. Watch out for snake oil salemen.
