I have seen people distributing pamphlets of some company or the other. It is wastage of money. No body reads!

It is said they are making ads over pamphlets, expenditure of which is audited. The CA also allows the same, because it is part of the business. In turn Government also allows it. But in fact nobody reads the pamphlet and costly papers are wasted. What do u say?

i say a lot of people read them or people worldwide would stop spending billions of dollars each year on this type of advertising.

Actually it is the paper equivalent of internet banner advertising in that it generates brand awareness at the least cost.

It doesnt matter that they throw the pamphlets away, the name and products the company sells is read before.

i think it is not a wastage.

if you think , such pamphlets are distributed by companies which are new in the market.

Thats one of their stratgegy to make people known to their company.

No body reads that , but  every body looks at the top of the pamphlet i.e. what is the pamphlet all about.

Hence their objective is accomplished.

Its a part of Brand building, and is called 'Increasing Market Presence' or 'making people aware' or 'Grabbing attention.'

I am not in favor of it though, as there can be better ways, with lesser wastage.

But people mostly do it, because, they think, mostly people who are throwing it, but there are people, who might be looking for their services/products and will look at these pamphlets , so they just want to target them. And let everybody else know they are there.

I agree about Marketing thing, but there are Much Better ways to do above thing, without wastage, of coarse!

One could be Human Hoardings(with catchy text/dress) moving around, who should catch more attention than a pamphlet, who should further distribute pamphlet to people who ask for it.
