Question:

I have self harm scars (I'm not proud of)

I'd just like to know of any good products I could use to help reduce the appearance of these scars. They aren't terribly deep marks, but very brown looking and obvious all on my forearms. Yeah I know it wasn't a great thing to do, but I was in a bad place.

Anyway, I'd just like some decent responses, if you haven't got anything nice to say, then don't bother. All I want is some products.

Thank you :)

  1. use savalon then cover it up with foundation :) x

  2. Everyone's skin responds to different products. Personally I would try natural ones and see which helps to fade out these marks that you have.

Try oils at night when you go to bed, baby oil, olive oil - rub in well. You don't need much and you don't want it on your bedsheets.

During the day I would try a slice of lemon, or some aloe vera product. Before I went out I would then put on some foundation makeup to "mask" them down a bit.

Over time I hope you will win with this problem and I am really pleased to hear that you are feeling so much better about yourself now.

With very best wishes for now & your future, from UK

  3. try using sudocrem it makes the scars less notice able and reduces the colour, then try a fake tan product over the top, even if its just a shade off your natural colour

  4. other than normal cover-up, I don't know of much else.

But also, you would have to be careful while washing your hands.

Things can get tough sometimes, hope things are better for you now. God bless, and if anything every gets tough again, know you aren't alone. God is always with you.

  5. i mix a little bit of honey with sugar spread it on intended area.wrap a piece of material over where youve got the scars. leave it on for a couple of hours every day. i dont know how long it will take and i dont know if it will work on your skin at all but it helps mine.  hope it helps (and its cheaper than buying fancy oils and foundation) ^_^

  6. although I've never had to deal with self inflicted wounds, I do use mederma for scars...has never really failed me. Good luck with the scar removal and your life in general

  7. Bio-oil is really good for scars and skin discolouration

  8. As a christian and Psychology Consultant, I think that if you, trully, regret what you have done, then God is willing to forgive you, if you ask Him to.

There is no product in the world that can change things.  Change must come from the inside: you have to start learning to accept your past, who you are, and your physical appearance, and begin moving on, today.  Tell yourself that you are going to live with this, and God's grace will be sufficient for you, and you will find enjoyable times.  You have to learn to take care of yourself, better your circumstances, and do what is right.  Good luck! 9. BIO OIIL DOES THE TRICK FOR MY SCARS (:

  10. I wish I could help but I dont know sorry :(

  11. I know exactly how you feel, self harm is a way of releasing pain and is a coping mechanism for dealing with bad things going on in your life. I have self harmed for over 20 years. There is a product called bio oil scar treatment and you can either buy it online at various online shops or you can buy it in chemists/pharmacies. Good luck.

  12. there's something called dermablend which is designed to cover scars, it's available to buy in the UK or order online

And I've heard cocoa butter can help fade them

    good luck xx

  13. If you are in engalnd then visit your GP he may be able to refer you to hospital to visit a specialist, i work in a psych hospital so see this thing all the time. One of our patients recently had skin grafts to minimise the appearance of her scars on her arms, however she had to be free from self harm for sometime but i cant remember exactly how long, its worth a go.  Good luck
