My legs are weak and shaky... The first practice our team had was and twelve o'clock in the morning... We did lunges and squats... After those my legs seemed to give out... I couldn't jump or even run that fast... it felt like they were asleep...accept they weren't...they were shaking and still are... at nine thirty the same morning...

is this because i am weak? Or is this because I haven't used my leg muscles in awhile? If so ... are there any specific stretches/things that i can do to help this is stopping?

  1. Do your legs feel shaky and rumbly, like a radiator? If so, I used to get this feeling after a hard ballet class. If you stretch really well before volleyball and pull up your legs as straight as possible, it should stop. The stretches I would rrecommendare putting your legs straight and together and stretching your hamstrings by leaning down and touching the ground. Also do this sitting, only touch your toes. You could try the side splits also. My last piece of advice is drink lots of water before and during practice.

  2. Stretch, but only for maybe 20-30 minutes.  you CAN overstretch. You are probably getting this because, as you mentioned, you aren't used to using these muscles this hard.  You'll feel much better after a couple days.  I played high school basketball and often felt the same way after the first few practices.

Everybody else probably feels about the same way, so don't worry too much about it.
