Question:

I have six five week old orpington chicks, when can they go outside?

hey, i have 6 5 week old orpington chicks which are fully feathered (apart from a small patch on their bellies) in previous years i have put chicks outside at this age, but i just want to make sure i can put them out as i dont want them to die.

  1. As long as temperatures do not fall below 75 degrees.  As I dont know where you live I would suggest putting a heat lamp in their coop at nite time.  This is the way I do it with my  buff orphingtons.Personally I  love these  chickens most of all and I have raised many chicken in my life


  2. as long as it doesn't get to cold outside they should be fine to go outside at this age!!!! good luck chickies!!!!!!
