How can I copy all my VHS movies Godzilla, Steven Segal, etc.. to DVDs Is there an easy way? I know the VHS must play and then the output can go to a DVD copier- recorder?

I am not sure. Is there an inexpensive brand out there that will do this? Also what type of DVD will take a complete movie from VHS? Then will it play in my DVD player? Help!

  1. Dont bother copying pre-relased VHS tapes is illegal, bypassing the copy protection is illegal.

plus the real DVD's are cheap and much better quality images than the VHS.

plus all but a few are already on DVD.

Donate the old VHS to a charity and buy the DVD's

also DVD-r can only record 45 mins  at full quality so you either need dual layer disks at £15 a time which is more than the cost of a new DVD!!

Buy the DVD's and ditch the VHS

  2. You may use the best software I have seen AVS Video Tools. It can convert to/from all key format, upload video or DVD directly to key portables like iPod, Sony PSP, Archos, Zen Creative, and mobiles.

It can capture video from DV or webcams, TV tuners, DVB-T, DVB-S, transfer VHS tapes to DVD, remove commercials, edit video, copy and burn DVDs and video files: AVI (DivX, XviD, etc.), MP4, WMV, 3GP, 3G2, QuickTime (MOV, QT), SWF, DVD, VOB, VRO, MPEG 1,2,4, MPG, DAT, VCD, SVCD, ASF, H.263, H.264, RM, DVR-MS.
