I have so much trouble with regular parking..

I have no trouble parking in a spot when there aren't cars parked next to me. However, I can never park perfectly in between two cars in a parking lot. I don't understand when to start straightening the car. Sometimes, you have to straighten exactly after turning and other times only straighten after you go into the parking space a little bit. Also, how do you get the car to be straight and not slanted? If anyone could explain, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

  1. Understand the way you move the car especially when moving backwards. I kinda sucked at parking for a long time too lol. Just keep practicing

  2. And I assume you passed your driving test. you have to pay attention to what you are doing as no two situations are exactly the same. if you do the same thing over and over you get the same result over and over;

  3. Obviously, I have to make sure that the space is wide enough to accommodate my vehicle . I like to have at least 2 feet of clearance on both sides of my vehicle . This allows all parties to get in and out of their vehicle without beating up the one next door.

    Since the back wheels do not follow the same path as the front wheels, I always think of where I want those back wheels to be when I'm parked . The trick is to take the front end past the space I want and then start to turn . I want the front end to pass very close to the vehicle away from my direction of turn (i.e. on my right if turning left) . Then I ease off the turn to straighten my vehicle so that everybody has enough room . This applies to right angle and diagonal parking . Remember that when parking between 2 vehicles the lines on the ground are useless - gage the opening between the vehicles . Practice between the lines . If it is too much of a pain, find a place less crowded that you are comfortable with.

    All the best

  4. CONGRATULATIONS YOUR A FEMALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. its just takes alot of practice.

  6. This can be a tricky situation because there are so many variables: Width of the lane, width of the space, size of your car, etc. A car with a long wheelbase is always going to be more of a challenge than one with a short wheelbase. some rules of thumb.

    1. Always try to stay to the left side of your lane/aisle, traffic permitting, to turn into a spot on your right.

    2. Do not begin to turn in until your right front fender has visually just cleared the vehicle to the right of the spot you are aiming for.

    3. Turn the wheel full lock until you see your LEFT front fender line up just right of the right rear fender of the car to the LEFT of the spot.

    4. come out of the turn, but keep that left corner the same distance from the car on the left, checking your right mirror to make sure you clear the car on your right.

    5. Once your car is halfway into the space, turn your wheel to the right until your nose comes just right of center and continue to pull in, correcting the wheel to center.
