  1. it is a great program talk with your school about other programs and talk with your dr. about meds to help with your problem

  2. You need to see a doctor to see if medications can help. Not "drugs" that zombie you out so that you can't function, but ones that help your body normalize itself so that you can be yourself again.

My foster-daughter came to us with severe depression issues and was ready to drop out of school. A doctor did a blood test and found that her depression was caused by specific hormonal imbalances that were balanced with medication. She went back to school and graduated with her class.

After about a year on the medication her body finally "fixed itself" and she as able to come off of it permanently. She went to college and is now living in Hawaii with her husband and their daughter.

  3. I don't know about Penn Foster, but my sister and brother are both using Connections Academy.  It is a virtual public school. Assuming you are a self starter, willing to do your course work without your parents nagging you constantly, it could be a good match for you. All the materials you need are sent to you at the beginning of the school year (books and some supplies have to be returned at the end of the year so treat them well). Then you either complete the assignments online or mail them in to be graded. you have an actual teacher monitoring your progress, grading your work and able to contact through email and phone calls. Because it is a public school it is free.  See if it is available in your state or a good match for your circumstances by checking out their website: connectionsacademy.com

  4. First off, you need to go for counseling.  Your first priority needs to be to get better.

Second, I would suggest eschool.  More and more high schools are offering classes online.  An option like tat would be your best alternative.  Many students are being educated in this manner for all kinds of reasons.

  5. I don't personally have experience with Penn Foster, but based on the number of people who come on Answers and try to cheat, I am led to believe that it is either very challenging or people just like to cheat. (Probably the latter).

As far as your social anxiety and depression, you really need to find a way to deal with it. I am all for Homeschooling, but not in order to hide from the world.  Whether you homeschool or not, you need to learn how to get along socially and deal with people.  You should seek treatment and make sure to be out among people at least several times a week.
