My toilet slowly drains the water when flushed. So far ive checked the cleanout outside, replaced the wax ring on the bottom of the toilet, and done other little things that can alter the draining effect of the toilet. Now i have also checked the vent pipe and although i couldnt see any obstructions, i can see standing water about 2 inches below the toilet drain. So right now im at a loss about what to do. No clogs to be found so far and im still not getting the suction needed to empty solid waste from the bowl. WHAT do i do now?

  1. You shouldn't see water below the toilet drain outlet.  You need to get a long snake or call a plumber.

  2. Did this just start happening. If its a new toilet the tank may be the wrong size(ie a new water saver tank on an older type toilet) or was made in Mexico,or is a "Swan" or is not level front to back or the flush holes could be cloged..

  3. CALL THE PLUMBER

  4. what do you mean by water 2inches below the toilet drian from the vent pipe ? if thats the case snake it out from the roof vent
