I have some fuses - What are they used for and how much could I sell them for?

They were left in the garage of my new house, we're talkin like 50 of them. I dont want to throw them away if they're useful to someone. They says Sprague 39D 2600 UF- 40VDC 7852L 5201 and it has a indent on one side with a positive sign. Its blue and has one black end and one silver end with two silver wires sticking out either side. It's about an inch in diameter and about three inchs long. Sorry no picture and the Sprague web site was confusing :( I tested some of them with a meter and so far they all work...

  1. What you described sounds like a Axial DC Capacitor.  The uf is the capacitance rating and the vdc is volts direct current.  I couldnt find them on a web site so they most likely hav been discontinued.  If you found them in your house chances are they are no good.  But if you test them with a Multimeter and can watch them charge one way, switch the leads and watch them discharge the other way. Hope that helps
