I have a few great ideas that could make millions of dollar. What step can I take to get this started? And how can I protect my idea without someone trying to still it? And where can I get the knowledge to start this? Please help anxious

There are patent lawyers, however, I'm not sure how that works or if money is required upfront (or from possible net sales?).
